Support Thread for the TND 500, TND 700 or future Rand McNally products. (part two)

They told me to send it back for repair. But I'm not sure they understood the issue. If this is expected behavior I won't bother returning it. To RM for repair but back to where it was purchased instead.

 

Sorry if this has been brought up, I tried searching without luck. I updated last week and now my unit (520) is SLOW I've obviously power cycled a billion times, tried the reset button both quickly and 30 seconds and today it took another update, no help. When entering an address when I pick new or history the unit sits for about 10 seconds until it goes to the next step,does this all the way until it starts routing me. Is there a way to do a more violent reset and reload? I used the docks repair option and it keeps saying 2 files were bad and fixed but each time I try it it finds the same two again.

 

I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I have a TND 510 with a SD card that I am using in my personal truck that I have been keeping updated. I also have lifetime maps. The problem is that it will not turn off. The only way is to let it rundown. Also hard starting up. Called Rand and they checked it and didn't seem to have any idea except let rundown and recharge then hit restart button. No help. Any ideas?

 

I have a garmin nuvi and it always tries to carry me through town and I try to go around. Going the way it wants is 4.6 miles out of the way and thats according to RM miles. I got a 7720 rv Rand Mcnally and used the tripmaker to plan my trip on my home computor. I told it point a and point b then I used the pointer and moved the route to the way I wanted it to go and then did the reverse route and downloaded to my unit. I thought it would travel the route I just made but boy was I wrong. Each time I had moved the route on my computor it thought that was a stop and when you went past the stop, guess what, it went back to trying to route me through town. It did just what it wanted to do. Man this thing is frustrating. I have driven on the farm hauling grain to mills for 12+ years so I know where im going but this year im going to start hauling fertilizers out of 3 different ports and I would like to be able to plan the route on my computor the way I want to go and have it guide me by MY route. Is this possable or am I asking to much? Does anyone do this?

 

My tablet keeps loosing GPS, acts like its froze as in it doesn't do anything but I can use buttons and they work. Also since new if I restart the thing and go to truck GPS it opens and starts but the says it isn't responding, so I close and start again. Every darn time.
