To Trucker wife, You can use the irs website to file taxes this year ONLY for free if you made under 58k jointly. I used them this year and paid nothing. Well except the 6k we owed.................lololololol but no fees to file. It works just like all the other programs and it is the irs they walk you through everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some stuff you don't even care to know about. But you may run across things you can deduct you didn't know you can. I do taxes for people and have suggested this site to many this year and it has worked out great for all of them. If you have any specific question feel free to pm me. I don't charge anything for picking my brain. I'm just trying to help out all the people trying to say a buck from uncle sam this year in order to get ahead in the economic hardships!

Whoa! That's almost as crazy as going to H&R Block (which I would never do). I have used TaxAct for years and have always been completely satisfied. Their questionnaire has always helped me find good deductions.

I started out using their free software, then finally decided to pay for it. It's usually around $17 and that gets me the "deluxe" version plus automatically inputs all my information for my state taxes and electronically files both at the same time for free.

Just my .02 I just hate seeing anyone pay too much for what amounts to the same service. H&R Block royally screwed my father-in-law over...he paid the extra for his business taxes to be filed with the so-called "protections", court representation if they mess up, etc....and when the state and IRS both came after him because of an H&R Block screwup, they were no help at all.

Is that 58 gross or net? Frankly, Imo, if you can't gross more than 58 in a year, something is wrong.
