Your first year in business will be your most expensive for ins.
In '96, my first year, I paid $20K for 1 26' boxtruck, full coverage & instate only.
Now I pay $15K for full coverage on my '01 Volvo w/'06 53' trailer, 2 48' trailers, '00 Frtlnr 112 and a 98 Int.
The longer in business, the cheaper your ins will be-unless you have "incidents".
Best truck insurance out there ?

They were actually higher, that was one our agent quoted us. We went through 3 different agents, received a lot of quotes. I believe as a new entrant were screwed for at least first year.

You pretty much are, unless you do progressive with 500 miles radiuscustomhaul86 Thanks this.

I don't blame you stacks for having the coverage you have. You want to be insured properly if anything ever happens down the road. You don't want to be underinsured that's for sure.Straight Stacks Thanks this.

My Progressive quote for 2007 379 Pete.....mind you this is my second truck.....3392 Down 1132.25 a month for 9 months or I can pay in full 11,550.76 for a full year. I DO NOT recall ANY milage restrictions because I let them know I will be running of state.
And as I recall the limits are 1mil. in coverage etc I would have to go back in look at the file.Last edited: Feb 7, 2016

Hey all just so we all can compare here I will post my new entrant rates too.
I think my guy seems very fair compared to what I read....
I am a class B 26' bed straight truck flatbed. I am registered for 52k GVW and I do not have hazmat insurance. I haul steel coils, bars, sheets, tubes, machines, etc...
I pay 325.00 per month for..... 20k on my rig, 1mil liability, 100k cargo. I can run all 50 states.
My truck is a 1988 Pete 362 and only covered up to 20k ( I think it is worth 50k and I would like to change that! lol) so maybe that is why my rate seems low....well low enough I guess.....compared to what I read in here.whoopNride Thanks this.
