There are so many variablesto MPG, it's almost pointless to compare. You run west (hills/mountains), I run midwest (flat). You're reefer (I assume), I run tanker (so have to high idle while pumping). I deal with surge, but probably deadhead more than you. All that said, I usually average between 7.7 and 8 mpg in my 2016 International (do you have a Freightliner or International?).
-
Hills will do you in. I know when I was in a light wt and would run northern CA, WA, ID, NV and west to NE, my milage would tank. Hated it, but that LW is underpowered so not much I could do. I probably averaged about the same as you.

I have the POScadia, my fm says I need to get it above 7.75 to get into the training program
-
They do training in the light weights?
-
Nope, full size only
-
Then what's the issue. Everyone makes more money when you do training

As everyone has said, there are so many variables in mpg. I just ran straight into 50+ winds and it shot my tanks to fumes. Had to pay cash to get to next best fuel stop. If you have been driving for three months you are good to go for tnt
-
Or you could go lease.

The requirements for Tnt is 9 months cdl experience including winter driving (I have 4 yrs cdl experience)
No accidents and good on time delivery (check)
2 months as A seat driver at prime, 3 months A seat driver for psd instructing
And 7.75mpg
I've been going 56/57 now and still can't break 7, hopefully they'll make an exceptionHighway101 and FlyingM Thank this.
