Not really, where I parked, there's nobody next to me, just an abandon equipment the owner doesn't use. There's only like 4 other trucks and most of them have landstar trailers, so you know they take care of their equipment.

I saw 2 western express flatbed parked in an abandoned grass lot in chicago. I leave for work, come back a week later and they were still there!! Now u know by now their trucks been raided and straps/tarps and chains been stolen. Kinda obvious nobody been sitting there.

Now in a truck stop, u can spot a few trucks that's just been park and the driver go home. If a crack addict wanted sometimes to sell, they can tell what trucks been sitting

Well, I made the point that I park at one of the 3 huge truckstops within a 1/2 mile of each other with around 700+ spots available not including the independents and I always park in the back. Never seen that area completely full so I don't feel bad at all. I don't drop a trailer, I leave everything and if it gets hit, then it looks like my company will be filing an insurance claim. I also did add that I found a spot closer to my house in an industrial area though so not really an issue anymore. As far as paying for a spot myself, yeah that's def not gonna happen unless it's my equipment.

A tiny truck stop 10 miles from my house. It's the only one for 50 miles either direction . Costs me $15 per 24. Werner doesn't reimburse

Also consider that prior to thanksgiving and Christmas truck stops in the vicinity of larger cities fill up fast (with guys on home time) so it's a good idea to have a plan B

When I was doing deliveries from the Bay Area to L.A and also when I did containers for the Port of Oakland, I would usually bring the truck with me.

I parked on the local 7/11 parking lot, like 3 blocks from where I live. It would stay there for the weekend and nobody ever told me anything. I would do runs at midnight with my pittbull occasionally , only once I found the seal broken but the fools couldn't get inside since I parked almost right against a fence.

My friend's dad and uncle own a rigging business on the outskirts of our town, and they own a lot of land. So they let me park the truck there for free. I can even leave my personal vehicle there while I'm gone.

How is it you feel entitled to a specific spot at a t/s if a driver is not supposed to park his rig there during home time that's a civil issue between him and the truck stop, it's none of your business.

OK...why does a driver feel entitled to park in a specific spot at a ts while he sits at home.

I was more amazed that he thought it a jerk move to take a parking spot but thought it was funny for him to steal someone's trailer.

Riddle me this...how can I steal a trailer that belongs to the company I WORK for?? Left UNSECURED. When our company policy is you DON'T stay hooked up to a empty trailer more then 10 hours and you DON'T leave them in a non-secure location.

And yes it is a jerk move to take a spot from a working driver while you enjoy your hometime.
