I purchased this specifically because it said truckstops, weigh stations and rest areas, except mine can't find ANY of those.

And the routing, my Garmin gives me a more sensible truck route on BICYCLE setting.

    What gives?

You need to explain exactly what your doing...

You must turn on POI reporting...
You must select what POI you want the program to show...

ok, what I said was that Copilot Truck 11 does NOT have any truckstops, weigh stations or rest areas in its database.

when I search in all categories for, say, Petro...it won't find one.
when i pulled into a scale, it went nuts trying to give me directions cuz it thought I was in a field or something...same thing with rest areas.

I have Co-Pilot Truck 11 and use it nonstop in my rig. Where did you get your copy? And how are you searching for them?

With very few exceptions it finds just about everything I'm looking for in regards to truck stops.

Rest Areas are another thing though, on the interstate it is fine ... however US Highways is is woefully lacking. Probably because most of the "rest areas" on those roads are nothing more than a table and trashcan.

I got my copy from a Flying J. Came in a little plastic wrapped box with a disk and GPS reciever in it.

Why don't you tell me how to search for them, then. I constantly stop at the Petro in Fargo, ND (and it is a Petro, not a petro attached to a shell or anything), but I can't find it in Copilot.

Since you bought it them that means you get free customer service.. Goto www.alk.com and click on the "support" near the top in the grey bar.. Then look all the way to the bottom on the next page and you will see a 800 number.. call it.... You may want to reinstall copilot, sounds like it did not load correctly or perhaps you did not select a correct option during the install.. Anyways delete it, then reinstall it... if that don't work use the 800 number i told you about.. to hard for us to figure out whats going on just typing here 2-3 day apart from each message...

When you were installing CoPilot, at the beginning it gave you an option if you want to install minimum POI database (default), or a complete database. It was probably left on minimum...Just reinstall CoPilot. Stick the DVD in and choose "modify installation"

I am ready to take the plunge for the CoPilot 11 for the laptop. I expect it has scales and coops in the database. Rumors have it that CoPilot will come out with a handheld GPS unit, but I cannot wait. So should I expect that it is trucker friendly?

was for me and I think they already launched the self sustaining unit.. Check thier site and if they don't have it call customer service and ask when.. they are pretty friendly and for the most part, very helpful..
