On another note, soon it will slip into first gear just like butter.

that video was funny! had an incident today on rt22 in ohio between cadiz and Cambridge I was drangging a D8 to cadiz when my pilot car hollered that there was a truck stalled on one of the hills ahead of me. I told him to hurry up and get around and stop traffic at the top so I wouldn't have to stop on the hill. perfect timing! I cruised right around him without missing a beat. and no I didn't need a pilot car but if some of you are familiar with that part of the world it is a safe thing to do. come to find out the poor rookie was on his first trip and he didn't know how to down shift to a smooth degree yet so he just stopped!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they do. Hills are a big part of driving truck. Up and down.

I feel bad for that truck. Lugging it way down low... grinding the gear into place... man what a shame.

I hear you on that pilot car. I have to move a conveyor soon and the road has a lot of 25 mph curves on it. One corner in particular you can not get around with a 48' flat in your own lane and it is a right hand corner. The problem is when they cut through the rock they did not cut a shoulder so the truck needs to be in the left lane.

It almost seemed like he thought having a Peterbilt would have saved him.

His problem was definitely not equipment related.

I took our 750 Komastsu to Cadiz across 22 last year. Almost two hours from 77 to Cadiz, I must have shifted 300 times across there. The rest of the equipment had to go other routes, when I took the 450 Deere in I had 19 routes between Columbus and Cadiz.

Here's a picture of the 750 on an old haul road that the mechanic took when we were leaving.

Yeah, probably will slip in like butter... But then it won't go up the hill. Might not roll down the other side either!

I always thought that the purpose of making a video of yourself and then posting it on YouTube was to share something that you're proud of.

I have many videos of myself (not truck related), but only a few that I felt were worthy of posting publicly. He should take that embarrassing thing down. I kind of feel bad for him.
