I have 24 winches on my 24' ten wheeler. And keep 6 2" ratchets which I use about every load it seems :/
Better to have it and not need it.
Least I don't have to wait on lumpers!!!!!

I take a file to the bottom side of the stake pocket if I have to do this. That edge is very sharp on my trailers. -
I don't have and have never used the stack pocket winches. Do you like them/are they really useful? Something about the way they look just....doesn't turn me on. -
Stake pocket winches are nice when you need them, I have two. The only thing that I don't like about them is you can't wind up very much strap on them. Rarely ever use them on my flat, the step I use to have I used them a lot.

A word of warning on 3" straps. Alot of them use a 4" hook. -

I end up rolling my excess and securing it to my strap with a reuseable zip tie.tsavory Thanks this. -
