2015 led headlights on 2006 volvo

Unless they have recently changed it...

The LCM does need to be re programmed to accept the lower voltage draw of the led so the bulb out function can still operate. This is also the reason why it is 2007 and newer rather than 2004 and newer. Trucklite says the lcm does not have the lower setting on the lcm in 2004 to 2006 models.

As I said, unless they have changed within the last 6 months.

 

I converted my old 2008 and man what a difference !!!!!!
I previously had the deep space HID kit and the new LED lights were far better lighting. No comparison IMO. JUST BIG PRICE TAG !! LOL

 

you should add those deep space lighting led for lights...... I've been eyeing those up.

The deep space lighting kit is good but he builds it to have a balace of long life and good output. I bought a 55w ballast and osram night breaker d2s bulbs from theretrofitsource.com and it is night and day difference.

 

The question is if after 2 years outside of the lights will get same oxidation (yellowing) as the old lights did.

 

not as bad. I'm looking for a used truck right now and the ones I see with the led, they still look good.

 

So they still do get yellowing effect (oxidation). Now the question is if for $1800.00 to buy one set of headlights which after 3 years will have also yellowish coating on the lenses or for the amount of $1800.00 you will get 3 sets of old type of projector headlights and change them every 3 years or so

 

I have a set with the deep space HID already installed ...laying around now....if you're interested....??

 

per the evensville Volvo dealer no reprogramming is need on 2004 and newer. becàuse the new led's system (in the light housing) the LCM will "see" the right voltage

 

I had originally read it on this forum, So I called 2 volvo dealers and neither knew about it. it took a phone call to trucklite to find out it was 2007+

If they work for 04 to 06, I'm happy because I wanted them for my 06!

 

Had to reprogram my 2008 LCM.

Kept tripping bulb out warning from low amperage, not voltage.

Not a big deal.
