Look into Goulet Trucking, they have yards in Ma, Ct and eastern NY. Also try ICC Trucking out of Holyoke MA. Goulet can keep you busy hauling salt in the winter for sure, they may have other overflow work in the other months that can keep you busy. You will need to work your way up with these type of outfits as they have so many company trucks that get the work first. If you want to work for asphalt/concrete plants I can give you the names of some places in eastern and southern NY. Unfortunately "steady" and "good paying" are hard to find in the dump trailer world. I would push to get in with SRS, they must be doing something right judging by the looks of their equipment. Talk to local farmers as well about hauling corn and beans out of the field to whoever they are selling to. Call Ricelli Enterprises and get set up with them. They bid big jobs all over the northeast and beyond and are looking for trucks all the time. They have always paid well. Good luck

Try Jessica French and Bill French Jr. also. I think they might use a quality o/o.....AXL out of Greenland is a possible. Try Weaver Bros. out of Concord NH too.......they handle the coal gig at the Bow powerplant. The coal that comes by barge is trucked from Newington to Bow. (some also comes on rail)

Just thinking as I type.....those may or may not do you any good.

You can go to O&G, Tilcon and some of the other highway construction outfits. They have a list of guys for milling and paving that you can get on. You may have to pay union dues but it's not much. Find out where the burn plants are that accept contaminated soils. That stuff pays by the ton per mile and often times there are brokers that have a list you can get on. You can probably stop at any gas station being dug up and ask where they send the dirt or who they call for trucks. If you haul contaminated dirt, you will probably have to register with each state's Department of Environmental protection or the state DOT or some statewide regulatory authority. They may require additional insurance coverages as well. Gravel pits are good places to snoop around too. Often times they have lists for delivery trucks. Look for mulch and topsoil guys too. They are very busy in the spring and fall. So to summarize, contaminated soils in the fall and winter, mulch and topsoil in the spring and asphalt in the summer. Good luck!
