Don't forget the Florida pan handle for chemicals.
AdamBen Gunn Thanks this. -
That's what I was hoping to hear. With Pensacola so close to Mobile I thought it might be a good area.
-
Also seems to be plenty of work in Savannah, where I'm at.

Chicago, Joliet and Northwest Indiana area has plenty work and well paying jobs
White_Knuckle_Newbie and Ben Gunn Thank this. -
What is the average per year earning potential of tanker drivers? Is it product hauled? By the mile? Company? I'm trying to decide where to start, tankers or foodservice.
-
Depends on where one lives, and what you haul. I started doing tanker work running regional both oil and chemicals I knew the company wasn't that great but I wanted the experience. I only made around 50k but I knew it would open the door for what I really wanted, so I stuck it out for 1.5 yrs. I now haul fuel all local and made 91k my first year without top pay.White_Knuckle_Newbie and Nycoilfieldrookie Thank this.

I'm in NYC. I'm trying get a feel for what I might be in for. (A move to greener pastures will be in my future to get away from the city as well)

I think tankers in Denver is pretty good place and busy. Loves pilot always looking and others. They seem to be always hiring. Chemical hauler Distech is always looking if your in experience and has a sign on bonus. Good stepping block. Talked to the manager there seemed like a laid back person. Got all the big companies here Air products, Praxair, Airgas, Air liquide seem to always be looking around spring. Foodservice is always hiring here too. Hiring season is actually winter here but mostly year round. 7500 sign on at Sysco. 3k at Mile Hi Foodservice. Mclane, MBM etc.

The wife and I were seriously considering moving to Colorado. I'm a noob though, so anywhere I apply would have to be somewhere that accepts recent grads.
