I am LTL road and at my barn the road has been getting slower and slower. Management says the bill counts are about the same it is that each bill has gone down in weight and volume.

Were getting busier my Friday is starting to pick up little by little soon it'll be 20,000 lbs. When the ice melts and the warm weather shows up the seasonal places start to really pick up. Our transit trucks are fairly busy doing double runs and everything.

Our tiny yard is apparently one of the busiest in the entire company. Go figure...

Taking over a new route monday, the area just to the south of mine, but with an earlier start time.

Seniority has its rewards for those who are patient. :D

I'll admit that of the three routers we have, mine is probably the most competent. But Friday's little brain fart left me wondering.

He had me and the straight truck next to me finishing at places that were about a mile apart, and neither place had access issues.

We made a king's ramsom off of two of friday's pickups. The last two bills I picked up friday pretty much stuffed the trailer to the door with big, empty wooden crates. Two 2000lb shipments billed at class 200 means big bucks.:D

I had a super low stress day today.

    Weird.

That's usually a bad sign. I've found that an easy day is often a premonition of the next one being difficult.

Excellent unwritten rule for LTL/delivery. Love it.

Whenever I've had that happen it was because I had a volume shot with an appointment that they had to cut several bills to make fit.

So what happens is you'll have the next day's freight to deliver plus half from the previous day. No different than having 5 or 6 returns.

Hit a skunk early this morning on my way back to the barn. Blech. 250 miles of trying not to gag and puke all over the cab. Hit it with the pressure washer in the shop, but half-arsed it because I don't much like the guy I slipseat with. So there was an up side to the experience after all.
