With "Free" classes, companies usually make you take out a loan. Then they pay the loan off for you over the first year you work for them. And there is usually an employment contract, about a year. If you quit, or dont get hired, you still owe them on the loan. And some companies will keep the cdl until the loan is paid off.

 

In reality though, the company can't touch the cdl because it belong to the driver just as much as his social security card or birth certificate. The DMV is the only outfit that can pull a cdl. They have been known to pull a cdl due to court order on delinquent child support, but not for cdl school debt. Some companies like CR England insinuate they own the cdl, but only to intimidate the driver.

I made almost $60 in my first year by going to work for TMC and working my ### off. That's because I didn't listen to people like you. I paid my way through school and owed nobody nothing when I walked out.


Oh, trucking companies couldn't care less about a diploma. You could go to office Depot, buy a pack of generic diplomas and make your own.

Trucking companies do education verification with the school you claim you went to.

People lie about attending schools all the time.
