Any advice you experienced guys can give a newbie??

    That's about a couple weeks of training, as you will be working (driving some very long days) It will be a rushing game and you will need to slow down and take your time. You wont have a route for a while.....you will just make the deliveries everyone else pulls off their truck in the morning and they will be scattered across the dock. These deliveries will often be residential or deliveries that will cause the regular route drivers to not too start their pick up cycle on time. (too far out of regular route area or customers that have challenges accepting deliveries......no dock, no fork lift, no receiving people, etc.

    @AnthonyM757 what area will you be running in? (I know that ain't a tip, or advice, it's a question. Because I'm nosy...):D
    As has been pointed out, to your customers you ARE the company. Once you get on a regular route, you will be seeing the same people over and over again. So it pays to keep a professional, friendly attitude.
    And when it comes to service, UNDER PROMISE, and OVER DELIVER. Don't make a commitment unless you know you can keep it.
    People mention how much work it is. Well, yeah, but it pays quite a bit more than just sitting on your butt holding a wheel OTR, you are home every day, or close to it, and it helps keep you in decent physical shape.
    A wise old trucker once said to me, "don't waste time, but never get in a hurry." Best advice I ever heard.

    If you think it's too tight to turn around, IT'S TOO TIGHT TO TURN AROUND. Avoid becoming "that guy" and a Youtube sensation.

    One thing extra to keep in mind if I may.

    Once the freight is off the truck and the DR is signed, it's delivered. Get back in the truck and hustle on down the road pronto.

    Let any potential issues surface after you're long gone. You'll have too much other work to do.
