I couldn't find this question elsewhere so here goes. I had to come out of the truck bout 10 months ago for medical reasons. My old company will want me back but I've always ran around 3000 mi a week there and they'll want the same after being back a month or so. I have seen SNI is offering p/t jobs like 3 on 4 off at my age this sounds pretty good to me. Are any of y'all doing the 3-4 or 7 on 7 off and if so how do you like it. Have also read here they are going to auto's is that true , auto's are not a problem for me as long as they work right.. Thanks for any info drivers it is appreciated..be careful out there driver...

I don't know anything about the part time positions but I've seen them offered in bulk and some regional/dedicated jobs. Yes, they're going auto. DT12s. All the brand new OTR trucks sitting in Atlanta are auto. All but a few of the old timers at Atlanta Intermodal are in autos. Regional and day cab. There's not many left but they can still give you a 10 speed if you want it. Any new trucks they bring on will be auto. I, personally, love the things. Always get my fuel bonus since it gets around 8.5mpg. Van and bulk still have plenty of 10 speeds to give out 'cause there's just so many out there.

Thank you Asphalt Anarchy ! i have gotten to like auto's myself..traffic and fuel mileage are just two of the reasons i like em...dont know anything about the DT 12 though..first auto i ever ran got over 8mpg and i loved that..heck if they work right it makes for a less stressful day making drops and picks in big cities..think i'll check SNI out now i feel some better..

Knight also offers a similar schedule. They used to have a 7 on 7 off one. They have several though

Thanks scythe08 , but I'm just trying to come back after a pretty serious illness and 7 on might be a little much for me yet...but really thank you i had forgotten about Knight..

The 7/7 is slip seating and is shared between 2-3 drivers . Truck is parked at OC. Off right around 26 weeks a year.

I did P/T with SNI for a couple years, a few years back, out of the West Memphis OC.
I ran 7 on, 7 off, Wednesday-Wednesday, went home, came back Tuesday night. Different truck each trip, sometimes also recovered abandoned rigs.
I usually got 1800-2500 miles/wk; I set my workweek so that half my pay would go to one paycheck and half to the next. I usually grossed out about $750-800.
Wasn't a bad gig. It was definitely OTR, and you will be used like an OTR driver; however, the trucks you'd be driving are normally actually scheduled to go to a new driver or for a PM, so they'll get you back home, no problem.
I left only because a local job came open, otherwise I'd probably still be there.Grijon Thanks this.
