Making the run 20 minutes faster than the record. Cloed weigh stations. No lines at customs. 4 AM, and nobody on the road for miles and miles. Running "unknown" two lane roads through God's country. A breakdown when you are empty, and no appointment to keep.....

Rolling down a two-lane in the desert just as the sun starts to rise, with a cup of good coffee in hand, and nobody else on the road. man, talk about peaceful...
Hitting up a diner on some goat trail in the middle of BFE and finding out just why it's a "best kept secret" of the locals...
Plowing through some lake-effect snow on I-90, looking in your rearview and seeing a line of 10 4-wheelers following your tracks. And wondering, "what are these guys gonna do when I have to take my 10?"...
Most of all, this little fact: the United States is so huge, with so many different cultures, climates, accents, etc, that most of the people who live here will literally go to their graves having seen (at most) maybe 25% of their homeland.
