The accidents described above could easily be reduced by 50% across the industry if all entry level drivers were expected, like the old days to drive a cabover for the first 3 years of their career. Only then, after you have demonstrated your ability as an accident free driver, would you be allowed to "graduate" to a hood.
One unintended consequence of the idea of using conventionals as recruiting tools.
They used to hit stuff when they were in a cabover, but not as frequently.
Curious. Who has actually been backed in to by a swift driver?

I had a trailer get nailed by a Crete driver at the 83 diner north of York, PA. He was doing a blindside 90 with no lighting and shaved a little paint off the trailer. Pretty impressive.

was sitting at the T/A in puckerbush NV (Mills city) way out on the dirt cause I had a noisy reef when a swift hit the hole next to me quite fast. He then slid in to me and ripped my bumper to about a 90 degree angle and kept going, I was asleep when it happened and didn't get up fast enough to get his truck number. I was not real happy!

I don't see many Swifties trying to park in truck stops. When I do see them, they give it a few tries and then get frustrated and leave.
