I would say you have a bad oil level sensor also. Check the wiring and plug at the sensor for corrosion also.

likely a ground wire prob. the prob with a lot of shops, as already mentioned, is they do not think, they read what the computer tells them. when I had a similar prob years ago, the shop would not want to do anything but plug up to comp to see what codes were thrown. I told them fine but will not do you any good, cause it's throwing 7 codes. they wanted to replace sensors. I said no. no way does several sensors go bad at once.
turned out to be a ground going to e.c.m. now the entire wire from end to end looked good. no sign of being bad in any way. however when the coating was sliced open, green corrosion was everywhere. replaced it. that fixed it. these are things that a comp cannot tell you . only experienced folks can.

I thanked you because of sharing your experience, I totally agreed at one time. Then ran into a 3406E that would shut off but log no codes. The fault could be read when active. I thank should show no modules if ecm has lost power or ground and that also logs no codes as Heavy said.

Today we looked at two ways of taking oil pressure. We checked the oil psi with the manual gauge and got 24 psi at idle, but on the computer (and the dash) it only reads 11 psi. The ECM goes by the dash right? so we need the new sensor correct?
