I'm one week in at my first reefer job and my next pick up wants a continues 28 degrees what do I need to look for on my unit to set the up? When I set the temp it runs 5 degrees under the set temp and then stays off till 5 degrees over. I have a thermo King if that would help someone to help me out

I thought you were talking about this.blairandgretchen, Bean Jr. and taxihacker66 Thank this. -
Should be a dedicated button on the panel marked "continuous/cycle". Push it once to toggle back and forth between continuous and cycle. It will indicate on the screen what mode it is in.

OK thanks I just found out that it is supposed to be in continues mode. I hit that cycle button to see what would happen and it said "cycle mode not available on this unit" it has a sticker inside that says if the image is not displayed on screen that the unit is in continues mode. Thanks again I didn't wanna hit the wrong button and thaw my load of chicken before I make my drop in the am

Based on what you posted earlier about your unit starting and stopping (cycle), then it appears your unit is programmed to limit available modes, based on the set-point temp selected. For instance on our frozen loads in our fleet, we can ONLY run cycle on deep freeze loads. Continuous is only an available option above a certain set-point.

That would make sense my chicken is set to -10 my pick up Monday is 34 continues not 28 it might let me do it when I try and pre set it when I get there

I guess this answers why we are trying to make trucks drive themselves. We can't even trust a driver to put the unit to a set point then push the button which has 2 circles side by side on it to select proper way to run the unit for the particular load.
I have found it better to leave on continuous for the frozen loads. Seems to burn less fuel and the engine doesn't have to run high idle for a half hour only to shut off for 5 minutes. Also seems to almost never have to defrost. Just my experience.JB3, BoostedTeg, thekidsixer and 1 other person Thank this.
