Maverick was part of Schneider and still has Pumpkins. =expect the pay to be about the same. An easy transition to a scateboard if you want it though.

have a question. I have looked at truck driving before even talked to maverick about 2 years ago. I backed out because the company I worked for gave me a $2 raise to stay. Now the company has shut down for good and I am 52 closer to 53 . Is that to old to start in trucking and with maverick there were very interested 2 years ago and I was going to pay for my schooling by the way close to where I live .

One of our drivers has to be in his 70's or older. He has been pulling skate boards for 40 years or so.

hey notarps, one of the recruiters i talked to online said that alot of the new drivers are getting the auto's.... is this truck or would i be able to get a "real" truck...

When I was in IA last week I parked by a maverick that has only been with us 2 weeks. He had a 10 speed. It all depends on what is available when you get your truck. More than likely it will be an auto tho...

I talked to a recruiter that told me that they didn't have a training school program I thought they did . I was going to do the school thing on my on anyway . What about it no tarp do they have a training school or not or doe's student program mean fresh out of school ?

They used to have one, but I think they discontinued it. The glass div might still have one, but I am not sure. As long as you have a CDL you don't need a school with them.

First year drivers at Schneider average around 35-40k. On Maverick's website it says their first year drivers average over 52k. Not even close.

Maverick BOUGHT Schnieders glass division about 2 years ago, Maverick has never been part of Schnieder, with the purchase they got the pumpkin trucks and trailers , they are phasing out the pumpkin tractors,but there are still quite a few left.
As for pay in Specialized, according to the website the starting pay for a newbie is .41 and goes up to .45 after 6 months , that does not include fuel bonus either. -
Hey NoTarps. What's going on at Maverick now that they posted their FIRST EVER loss for the last fiscal year? Any new restrictions on the drivers? Putting off buying new equipment? Anything? Still got them in my back pocket "just in case", ya never know when your current ship sinks ya know. Like to keep up2date with my prospectives.
