Ive read through this whole thread and have become very interested. I have some questions for waterhauler and anyone else who cares to share. I have a cdl but with only a months experience. I wanted to know what is the likelihood of finding a job, I am also very flexible, hard working, and want to work as many hours and days as possible. And by flexible I mean I am willing to do any job even if it doesnt involve driving. How would I also go about applying for these jobs since Im in Georgia? I have no problem taking a trip to dallas and hanging in a motel for a couple weeks until getting a job. Thanks in advance for any input.

There are plenty of non driving jobs as well. A lot of jobs involve only driving to the well site and then operating various drilling machinery. Check websites for BJ Services, Key Energy, Halliburton, also CareerBuilder, Indeed, others. There are hundreds of support companies. Might check w/ FT Worth Chamber of Commerce. They have 30 min infomercials running on all the channels to push gas drilling. Chesepeake is one of the huge players down here. Also further West in Midland/Odessa area. May be easier out there but I can't say for sure. Used to be many years ago. They were willing to bend the rules to get the job done.

Staying in Dallas wouldn't do you much good, there isn't any drilling going on over there. -

I've been running a vacume tank for the last month or so. we do saltwater, drilling mud, reserve pit closings etc.
other then being on call 24 hours a day for 10 to 12 days then two days off, I like it. Can't get used to being on call though. we have been real slow the last two weeks but I was getting 100 hours a week before this. -
With those hours, I need to move down by you.......
-
not right now you don't. I got 46 hours last week and this week I have only worked 7 hours yesterday. they say the oil companies slowed down because of the huricane but I think they are just slow

Well just got home from my 2nd day of water hauling,,,long days but i love it...?I need to get some sleep . but when i get up I'll post a full report.
