Hello I have a c15 accert twin turbo with PDI stage 1 tune. I had a over haul done on it, and after 280000 miles I think I blew a head gasket or my head cracked, in Maryland Mountains on I86. So I made it to Baltimore and noticed that I have Excessive Blow By So I think maybe I burnt some Rings. Never had the motor over 220 degrees. Wondering if the ECM tune had anything to do with it since the turbo boost went up? Now That I need a to tear into it, I wanted to see if it would me a good idea to turn the motor into a 6NZ and if it is possible? I heard a lot of people praising the 6NZ. Also wanted to know if anyone had a PDI tune done to their 6NZ and if had any problems?Thanx

It's possible just not legal, so we don't talk about it here. If your PDI tune disabled the intake actuators, that's why you blew the head gasket. 18:1 compression needs the actuators to control cylinder pressure. Almost every truck I know of that tuned out the intake actuators with 18:1 pistons eventually blew a head gasket, some soon, some took years.

Are you pushing coolant out the overflow? If not it sounds like you may have scored a liner or broke a ring. Another thing to check is turbos the top turbo on those acert's has a history of going bad and pressuring the crankcase making it look like blowby.

Yeah pushing the coolant out of the overflow tank and seems like there is exhaust fumes coming out of the overflow tank as well

Blown headgasket or dropped liner. Liner protrution is paramount on the acerts. The 18:1 pistons don't help either. Cut the bowels in the pistons o r get 7172 liner packs 16:1 pistons. Do a vva delete and ride.

Do you know anyone that did that and had good luck with it?
