2010 d13 volvo slow to start...ideas?

    Takes like 3 or 4 attempts all rrrrrrr...rrrrrrr rrrrrrr...wait then finally starts....batteries say 13.8/13.9.

    OP does the engine turn over every time you turn the key?
    Because the "rrrrrrrrrrr" sound you mention doesn't give us much info.

    sound without engine turning over...................starterproblem
    sound with engine turning over....................fuelproblem

    Most likely fuel problem maybe cups or injector

    I used to drive one that did the same thing. Started around 200,000 miles, and just kept getting worse. Finally developed a very pronounced miss, and lost power. Ended up being the injector cups.
