If I work 7 days and dont clear above $2000 after costs.. well it just dont happen.
If i dont hit my $2500 goal I'm upset with myself.

It's not as hard as some make it out to be. Just gotta stay in the good areas and do loads that aren't fun because they pay more usually.
Now when i have to go home or a specific place all bets are off, goals are out the window.
If i wanted to be home every week or even every other week my income would be a lot less.
I've noticed that people that complain a lot about not making money are the ones taking big mile, light weight freight and avoid big cities and go home a lot... well helllooo no wonder why lol.

Only thing now is no longer can i pull off big money weeks. In the good ole days [which werent too long ago] every so often I'd get $3500+ weeks and twice went over $4000. Nobody believed me but i posted the proof.
There just ain't enough good loads to get lucky like that anymore.

Bare in mind just cause someone posts something doesn't mean they too can expect to earn that too, everybody is different.
I rarely go home and do endless short heavy loads in the same areas. Many people arent willing to live like that.
Drivers that stay in the Northeast earn more than me but i would have a nervous breakdown if i had to always be stuck there lol.

You live in a good area... as long as you're cool with never going west of PA or south of VA you'll do fine. Trying to leave with the cheap rates is what can bite you.

Drop/hooks usually are smooth sailing expect sometimes on weekends when the customer doesnt unload trailers on weekends and they run out of empties.
Live load/unloads is what screws up my weeks more than anything.
Cant do 3 loads in a day when that one live load you trip planned 2 hours for suddenly took 7 hours smh.

Could be worse, I've seen .70 to leave the Pacific Northwest and Salt Lake City before I even left, and rate didn't crash at that point

    Yup sounds about right.
Though there might be a couple spots at that time in the blind spot row, if u wanna roll the dice and hope a Swift truck doesnt tear off your front end

if ur ever in a pinch and just need a spot to sleep near fultonville/ johnstown, there is a parking area 2-3 miles east of fonda on rte 5, there is an area on both sides so you could turn around if needed, no facilities tho other than the trees and field. can see it on google maps.

I remember when people were calling me a lease fool I finally gave in and told them my NET was $4500 in one week. I was accused of being a liar. Then I mentioned, "well, one load delivered on a Tuesday, which carried over into the next pay period, which made my net look higher".

I was then accused by the trolls of intentionally sandbagging to inflate my weekly revenue numbers.

Funny thing was after "sandbagging" a $4500 week I followed that up with a $4000 net week. Now how can you sandbag back to back weeks? At this point i was simply accused of being a liar.

Funny thing was from Socal I netted $4000 over the following loads. 1500 mile run at $1.45/mile (4000 lbs), 900 mile run at $1.65/mile, 800 mile run at $2.65/mile (into the northeast from OH).

So I went from SoCal to upstate New York and still netted $4000 for that week. I don't know what rates are currently but in 2015 this was possible.

Hopefully for truckload carrier sake we get a pro trade/anti tarrif president elected this fall. Otherwise you'd better abandon your leases if we get someone that will put our jobs in jeopardy.

Oh yeah, back when things were better weeks like that were possible.
    Not easy but possible.
    Not they're not possible.

I believe it is if you have your own truck but if leasing through SFI I don't believe it's nearly that long
