Yeah, but you'll need to set your hometime for 3-4 days prior to you actually needing to be home. They run me out towards California with a load to try and swap on the way to get me back to Arkansas. Problem is I can never get a swap with someone coming out of California because they want out of there. Not being able to find a swap is what caused me to miss my last hometime. I only got home this time at a day past my original set hometime because I have a friend who lives in California and wanted to swap with me to get there.
Getting drivers home is something this company really needs to work on. Relying on the kindness of other drivers to get someone home isn't reliable. This is why I said in an earlier post that we need our own load board to pick freight from. I wouldn't have to rely on swaps to get home if I already worked myself to California to pick up a hometime load.
I honestly don't know why I have to give them a 7-14 day heads up on when I want to take hometime, when the only planning that goes into getting me home is always a swap. Of course that is unless you are lucky and the current area you are in has a load going to your state.
I like this company a lot, but the load planners need to do some actual planning here to work drivers in a position to get home and not leaving them getting home up to chance.

I live in the perfect spot for loads going home and coming back out. I live 90miles north of Houston, 180miles from DFW, 100miles from Bryan and Center, 60miles from Lufkin and 250miles from San Antonio. Only gone home from San Antonio once.
Never have a problem getting home. I also give my hometime notice 4 weeks in advance, but I stay out 3 months at a time.Steel Tiger Thanks this. -
