Technically/officially NO BEARDS. However, SOME terminal mgrs don't care and "allow" it. Corporate, apparently, goes along with this. Thus, the no beard policy is not heavily/seriously enforced.
So it all boils down to which terminal you're out of. ( i think H-burg is one of the terminals that "allows" beards)
i too, think the no beards policy is silly.

Here's a way to seperate UPS package from UPS Freight, besides the trucks they drive. If one of them looks like Ned Flanders from the Simpson's, it's probably a UPS package driver. If the other looks like a character from Duck Dynasty, it's probably a UPS Freight driver.
But in all seriousness, what does your friend want to do, because it seems OTR is out. Is he looking for anything local, or does he have a preference like LTL or foodservice? Or why not have him apply for the UPS Freights dockworker position? I'm sure you know they get paid just about as much as the P&D drivers do, and since he has a year experience already, he may have an opportunity to eventually work P&D, or linhaul, if he wish.Last edited: Mar 31, 2016
Bob Dobalina and Bakerman Thank this. -
USPS is hiring in Phoenix. Pay starts off at $20.50, and once you turn career, they literally throw money at you, I'm talking mega bucks.

i don't think she's into dockwork because she's not into it AND her back is jacked. She just wants a decent local job with not too much labor. So i don't think foodservice beverage delivery will work.

I'll PM you the information. It's a federal job, so there's only so much I can disclose publicly.

The Post Office isn't doing as bad as what everybody thinks it is. The deficit was already reduced by more than half, and we already are expanding our services to a different direction. As you probaly know, we are gonna be the sole delivery service for Amazon, since Amazon is starting their own trucking fleet. They already have their own trailers, just leased 20 Boeing cargo planes, and are opening up a bunch of new sorting centers. So their basically starting their own LTL company. USPS has already expanded to 7 day delivery to acommidate the work. We deliver their groceries, and are implementing Postal banking. Were actually turning more into a package delivery service now than mail. And since we charge about half of what UPS and Fed Ex charge, were becoming a major competitor now. And since UPS and Fed Ex are gonna lose the Amazon account, not only is this gonna affect then financial, it's probally gonna cause their stocks to drop from stock holders jumping ship. Don't get me wrong, UPS and Fed Ex aren't gona go nowhere, but their maybe a massive layoff coming in the future for them. I know when I worked for them as a casual feeder driver, I was hired just to acommidate the Amazon account, so all the feeder drivers that were hired off the street just for this sole purpose are probally gonna be laid off. And it may affect UPS Freight as well, since their under the same umbrella.
Here's something the general public probaly doesn't know, UPS actually uses our services to transport some of their packages, so you paid premium price to use UPS, when you could of paid a lot less using USPS from the get go.
So basically, the Post Office doesn't seem to going anywhere anytime soon.Pintlehook and Bob Dobalina Thank this. -
We got Staples account, here at UPSF so that alone keeps up busy, but very interesting and useful info above and would like to discuss more when there is more time......
