Sage in New Stanton is $5,800. When I talked to them, they told me they do not offer any type of in-house financing so you'd have to arrange financing on your own.

With OTR not an option it doesn't mean that you can't go to one of the company schools, just be smart about it.

Sign up somewhere like swift. They'll put you through their school. When you get your cdl, you don't have to actually join that company. You can walk away from them and just make monthly payments. Which would be covered under tuition reimbursement if you get on with somewhere like Schneider.

Key things if you go this route:

1- talk to whatever company you want to work for and if they have a tuition reimbursement program, make sure they'll reimburse the school.

2- don't tell whatever OTR company that your plan is to not work for them afterwards...

3- theres a good chance that you'll need to pick a school that doesn't pay you while you're in it. If you're paid there's a pretty decent chance of you signing a contract while in school, so make sure you're in a situation where you're not obligated to stay.

Example- swift academy charges $4400 for the school (with motel cost). If you don't work for them after the school, you have to pay back at $300/mo. Schneider reimburses swift academy at $150/mo. So, you're out of pocket for the other $150, but you've got your cdl. Other companies may tuition reimburse the full $300.

I actually got my CDL in 2012 from an oilfield company I got hired on with. I went in, talked to the manager, told them I would love the job but don't have my CDL, I got my permit so I could actually drive with another person, they trained me up and let me use their truck to take my road test in, piece of cake. That's what I would do.
