So I went into the interview thinking I'm applying for a side loader position, turns out they're in need of bulk drivers and I ended up getting offered a position. (which I was surprised because I'm basically straight out of school)
Any of you guys have experience/knowledge with this position?? It doesn't seem has hard as the sidebay, since I don't have to merchandise it..
Any Coke guys here? Just got hired as a bulk driver..

I spoke to a side load Coke driver near me and he said he is lucky to make $600.00 per week after taxes.
Giuseppe Ventolucci and AnthonyM757 Thank this. -
Ouch that's rough..
The manager told me that I'll start out making 18.75 hr and working over 45+ hrs.. So hopefully it will be more than that after taxes..
I forgot to ask them about their overtime policy, I hope it's time and a half over 40... Anyone know for sure?? -
Where will you be working out of? Most of their terminals pay 1.5x overtime for hourly drivers...

Bulks all grocery stores, and loading docks and lift gates and pallet jacks. Brings back bad memories for me ha-ha! Store receivers treated us beer truck drivers kind of crappy, but they probably see you coke guys more and probably treat you better. I don't like the beverage business, but you might so you never know.
AnthonyM757 Thanks this. -
Yea I delivered flowers to different stores like Costco and Giant, and they treated me as if I were some kind of nuisance...
Hopefully it's better with Coke -
Another question...
Anyone know how far out these routes go??
I can't imagine filling the same walmarts and Costcos everyday, I'd have to venture out at least a couple 100 miles right??
Unless I vastly underestimate the consumption of soda -
You shouldn't drive too far. The coke drivers around here don't. They work 4/10s and the merchandisers do the hard work. The coke guys just drop it off at the stores
-
The bulk drivers here work 6 days a week...
But I guess it's better doing 6 days of drop offs rather than 4 days of back breaking work
