I'm an experienced driver looking to get out on my own. I've hauled crude in North Dakota and Wyoming for the past three years, but I would like to go O/O.

I've been interested in hauling fuel for years now, but haven't had an opportunity to jump at. An opportunity has come up to get into an 07 W900 while basically leasing the truck from a private party and making payments direct. I haven't seen much however for fuel transport companies that are looking for O/O to haul for them, it seems to me they all want company drivers.

I would like to be back in Southeast Idaho, but living somewhere else doesn't bother me much as long as I can run the truck successfully working with a company that's honest and will pay. So I guess my real question is how to go about finding a company that would let you sign on and run for them using your own truck. Do any of them have trailers to lease or do you need to secure that on your own? I have various other questions too, but it's all kind of overwhelming to even think of after driving a company truck for this long.

I've been doing some reading on the forum and it seems like a different world than hauling crude. Out here we don't worry as much about legalities....the truck I'm driving is almost 48k tare weight and 117k-124k loaded. The couple times I hauled gasoline to an ethanol plant out here it felt like I had nothing on.

Most fuel companies will have you pull their trailer...... With a 70/30 split (more or less)
