I can't wait to work for Swift...

Swift doesnt run automatics, the majority of the trucks have 8 speed volvos or freightshakers, they do have a couple tens and 13s but I have not seen one auto.

 

Husband drives a 10 speed. he say's he has not seen any automatics.

If you kept your nose clean and can meet thier requirements then why would having worked for Swift hurt your chances of employment at a "respectable" company?Have U ever driven for Swift? Well thats where I started and its never hurt me.

Working for Swift will not hurt your chances. Call the "better" companies and ask them what they want from you. They will say we need more experience get it from companies like Swift, Schneider, JB, etc.. I am not sure why people are so die hard against Swift on here. A lot of people go and work for them to get experience and go on to a better company. So they serve that purpose. But why anyone would bad mouth them soo bad and not come up with better suggestions on where to get that much needed experience is beyond me.

 

Well you already have people coming into the industry judging companies from 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th hand info that they got from someone else who has little or no time behind the wheel either.And more impotrantly none at the company in question. Im not saying dont listen to what others have to say. But I am saying get first hand information and base your decisions on that.

I worded that wrong. It's not that Swift itself would hurt your chances, it's what new drivers might do to themselves without the proper guidance that would hurt their chances. Then again, perhaps the company name will. I know one person that was with Werner that was having a heck of a time getting on somewhere else because of that, so it's possible. Listen, how many times do I need to say I haven't driven for Swift? I never claimed too. What's wrong with basing my opinion on what I've heard from Swift drivers? Some people do have good experiences, sure. I don't need to have driven for them to know their reputation both on here and throughout the industry.
