What complications can be expected removing an APU unit off of a 2007 international 9200? Its a thermoking unit and its no longer working. Any oh-by-the-ways I should be aware of prior to removing?

If yours is like mine it is plumbed into the trucks coolant system so make sure all that is tied off or all your coolant will run out
By the way, have you taken it to a Thermoking service place and had them check it?.. could be as simple as a fuse or burnt wire, etc etc

A friend of mine just had one removed off a truck he sold. It was a Thermoking. Took his mechanic about 7 or 8 hours to get it all the way off. That's without butchering the truck in the process. That included the switch in dash, inverter, breadbox heater, everything.

By any chance know how much it cost to remove it?

I own TK apu and have moved it to two other trucks. You will find no surprises. It is easy and will take about 4 hours to do it right. Take your time don't cut wires mark the wire as to what terminal they came off the main wire harness unplugs. Then control unit or thermostat is worth alot. You will some sheet metal to cover the holes in the sleeper floor I silicon and pop reverted it down. I always cut the AC lines just below the fittings. Unhook the coolant lines from engine if this unit had the arctic package some did some don't. unhook the battery cables first again don't cut take them off. If you take some time and do this right you will able to sell it for around 1500 nobody wants a cut up mess. good luck do not take the fuel hook up out of the fuel tank leave it in just loop the fuel line if you sell it the buyer will have to buy a fuel pickup new one from TK.

If you just looking to dump it find a shop to trade for labor they take it off and keep it.

Well I know his mechanic gets $65/hr. That's a pretty cheap rate for a mechanic. It only took him so long because most of the electrical connections were soldered and he had to deal with that, unsoldering and making it right rather than cut and hack. Like terryt said take time and do it right. If you don't want to do it yourself maybe you can find someone to remove it for you in trade for a discounted sale price.gabton-tankers Thanks this.

Yes mine is a 2010 only about five wires in the unit under the bunk to unscrew everything else was or is plug and play. That is cheap labor local shop here get 95 that cheap around here. You need a transmission jack to lift it off the frame there are fours bolt that hold it on the frame. It Really not that hard to do but totally understand if you feel like not doing it.
