this story is so full of holds it's almost funny
If this really happened then the only person responsible is the owner of the POWER UNIT. 60 % of the time i'm dispatched power only.... pulling shippers trailers
as other have pointed out this is not a current swith trailer and even if it was swith isn't responsible unless the power unit is owned or leased to swift....
if the op really was a truck driver they would know thisToomanybikes Thanks this. -
@flood , I'm glad a power-only driver showed up. Regarding my post above (#26) and the OP's initial post, when a trailer has been sold and is in transit, where do the tags come from? Do you put temporary plates on the trailer you are pulling, do you pay for them or does the company you are leased to? How long does it take from the time you are assigned to pick up a trailer until you have the temp tag in your possession? Surely the carrier doesn't leave their plates on until the trailer gets to the buyer.

i'm leased to a ATA big box company.
most of what I do is moving a shippers trailer (loaded) fedex, ups, Conway, landstar, shinneder, central trans, toyota, ford....ECT..
it's their trailer owned by them so they have there plate I just provide the power
as to moving a trailer "when a trailer has been sold and is in transit" a plate is not needed, all that is needed is a trip permit.88 Alpha Thanks this. -
Aw, some one need a hug from Jerry? Or is some body looking for some thing else?
That is not a "dark red truck" pulling the trailer. That picture is not taken from a penske box van; notice the slope and the curve of the glass and a-pillar. That is not a commercial truck the picture is taken from.
That is not a Swift trailer at any time. Swift does remove all 'Swift' decals from the trucks and trailers before going to action. This usual leaves a outline of the sticker from the oxidized paint surrounding the sticker. There is no trace of that on the rear doors nor is the trailer numbers or any evidence of them visible. Swift trailers never have a job box on them. The whole side of the truck appears to be a photoshop.
The author knows nothing about trucking, if she assumes that one Swift trailer would be attached to just one truck. She is out to lunch about a Swift truck going 80mph being that they are all governed between 62-68mph. She has no clue about the responsibility of the a driver if she thinks Swift is at all liable for such an incident.
The bottom line is she should tell her "friends" to quit playing with the phone's while driving a truck and follow a safe distance and none of this would be a concern, if it happened at all. And quit trying to catch up with a 80mph truck in a 70mph zone after said incident as if even that could of happened. -
I see where this threads going....

Sorry about that whole ordeal. That's certainly terrible. Hopefully that gets sorted out.
I do have an unrelated question though. Are your shift or caps lock keys broken? That issue should be promptly addressed as it makes the entire letter seem a little silly. -
