I have a guy telling that I should ask no less than 1.75 CPM for back haul. I get around $1100 to $1200 back haul from WA to Sacramento area. What is good rate? What is what anymore? Thank You fellow drivers

You can ask for whatever you want, the question is, are people willing to give you what you want?

I wouldn't do it for less than 2.00 a mile. I haul out of Wa to Or every week for more than 2. Normally it's between 2.25 to 2.50cpm. Anything less than 2 I'll deadhead cause its not worth my time. But I do have dedicated customers who pays good so that helps..

It's no different than a flat that has to tarp. I run curtains because my customers on both ends require every load to be tarped no matter what the weather is doing. And a curtain van is alot faster and easier to close up than taping the load

    Jonkie Thanks this.

Right . I don't get why you'd run flat without curtains unless you needed to go off the deck I guess
