I understand there are shady companies but this lawsuit looks and smells frivolous.... The article the three drivers that are suing are suing for crap that for all intents and purposes doesn't make a lick of sense like requiring them to take drug screens... That's not a company policy that's a Federal Regulation... I hope these drivers lose this one... And no means do I say I'm Pro company but this one is over the top

I agree, being an IC at Schneider you still had to attend orientation and watch safety videos and just about everything else they are suing over right?

The lawyer is desperately trying to have the court see them as employees, so he can use these minimum wage statutes. Did they not tell the lawyer they signed a contract to lease purchase a tractor-trailer combo, to use specifically with a Celedon company? And it was their responsibility to purchase federally required insurance, permits, plates, supplies, repairs, and fuel? Who knows how many cash advances they took. That is always the thing cry baby driver love to leave out when they say they didn't make any money. They definitely made more than minimum wage before deductions, but it doesn't matter, they are not employees, they are just another one bites the dust.

    MachoCyclone and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Do you realize other companies PAY contractors to attend the federally mandated company REQUIRED training? I was paid 100 dollars per 8 hour day for 3 days.
