Entrepreneurs Are Working to Uber-fy the Trucking Industry

Interesting.. I don't see it carrying the same wave of momentum Uber is currently riding tho..

 

I used to work for an automated welding company who shipped systems worldwide, and always ordered a whole truck, even if it was only a 20' long crate arrangement, mostly because it was very sensitive equipment and usually very secure delivery areas. One truck showed up half loaded with pallets of cardboard boxes, after some choice words with the broker and driver, he left with his half load of boxes and another truck was brought in.
Sounds like a great way for drivers to double dip- Too bad most companies are not in favor of that.
