I have a 2011 freightliner cascadia and when I drive I hear a whistling sound from under my engine I believe, I'm wondering if anyone knows what this could be, thank you!

I have a larger turbo than stock and it whistles louder than any rig I have driven. It could be the same thing unless it just started doing something that it didn't use to do.

Could be an exhaust leak from the manifold.

It started at the end of last year and it has been louder during recent runs, it sounds as if i were in a yard with a lot of trailers with the wind blowing making that whistling sounddaf105paccar Thanks this.

Sounds like an exhaust or boost leak. Grab a spray bottle with soapy water and start spraying.
When mine got loud, I sprayed it all down and found nothing. Until I got up on the steer tire. That's when I noticed the large hose going from my air cleaner to the turbo had came loose at the back of the filter box.Bob.g Thanks this. -
in the last run it was better over 8 mpg, i used to get less
