Problem is a lot of drivers eat the same meal as a person who does physical labor all day. Taking in way more calories then they need. Personally, I make two peanut butter sandwiches, pack two granola bars and two fruit cups in a bag and that's what I eat on the road. Sometimes at the end of my day if I'm peckish, I'll make some rice in my rice cooker and nuke some beans. Mix them up and throw them in a tortilla. And that's my whole diet. For 4-6 weeks while on the road. Low calories but high carbs. I'm not gaining weight (much), but I sure as heck ain't losing either!

Yes... Microwave also have panini press and crock pot. Use a ninja blender for fruit and protein smoothies

We eat lettuce wraps with fresh veggies and grilled chicken or lean lunch meat too.

That's actually a great idea. I never thought of a blender in the truck. Thanks. I'm gonna go buy one tonight!

Some good alternatives to soda: water, vitamin water, zero vitamin water (the white one, lemonade flavor, no calories, good alternative to gatorade), monster energy (the rehab flavors have very low calories and a ton of caffeine, they also have no calorie ones too).

Also, be careful of those drinks at the truck stop that look healthy, like the 'Naked' brand juices. They have more sugar than a pack of skittles, no joke.

My one and only vice. Monster in the green. Can't start the day without one.

Boiling veggies removes more nutrients than does steaming.
    Microwaving removes even more.

A microwave won't remove protein content, but it does remove nutrients even more than boiling.

I always keep a 3 liter jug of half black coffee half water in my cab. No sugar- just water and coffee. Caffeine is not bad... It's the sugar in energy drinks and soda that'll kill you.

You do realize that coffee is just ground coffee beans and water, right?

Why not just say that you drink 3 liters of weaker coffee?
