    It's the army that wants to keep them in service. The first time the usaf wanted to retire them, the army wanted to snatch them up. Made the usaf take a second look at it. I can attest to personal experience with A-10s saving my bacon. There's no other aircraft I want over my head when I'm in danger close situations.
