Newbie trying to get some good tips/info about grounding the antenna. I have a 29ltd classic out the box with a Wilson 2000. Was trying the stock set up on company '15 pro star but I am not liking the results. Plan on running new mount and coax and using just 1 antenna. Any tips on how to ground the antenna would be fantastic!!

I have a 14 prostar and am a noob as well but have had the good fortune to be in current contact with one of the best radio techs in the biz. Just got off the phone with him about an hour ago and we were talking about this same subject for my setup.

You'll need about a 9" flat braided copper ground strap with grommet ends. And you'll have to mount your antenna just inside the secondary support arm of the mirror bracket. You'll attach one end of the strap to the antenna mount and the other end will go onto the front recessed bolt that attaches the whole mirror bracket assembly to the door. And it's going to be a pain in the ### to do it.

In this pic the antenna is mounted on the wrong side if the support arm. Once its mounted just inside the arm bracket, the strap will reach to the recessed bolt hole that's in front of where the mirror bracket attaches to the mount assembly.

I hope that makes sense. If not let me know and I'll try to explain it better.

And once that's done I'm told we still may need to bond the door to the frame for optimum grounding, ugh.
