Got lucky this week. Grabbed me a 15 series trailer out of Bentonville to load for Casa Grande on Monday. Doing those loads frequently and he last two times it has been with a 9 series trailer. Last one pulled really well though, and had fairly new tires. New enough that I was comfortable with actually airing them up to 100 before making the journey.

I usually go down to California then go back East because I can get a better rate going east out of California then I can in the northwest

Yeah, that tends to be a good option, but not for my truck. West coast for me has become Arizona.

The good loads out of Washington go really really fast. I live in that area and booked a load from Phoenix to Washington for $1.78 and coming out I have load from Washington to Utah for $1.98. From Utah I'll find another $1.70-$2.00 load heading east again. It's all about timing in the west and understanding this market. The west usually doesn't ship Thursday to Sunday and what does go out during that time is low crud. Most of the high paying shippers ship Monday to Wednesday and 50/50 in Thursday. Even when I ran reefer out here there wasn't much of anything on the weekend. If you didn't have a load to get you out of the region by Friday morning you were sitting the weekend. Unlike the midwest and northeastern region where they ship practically 7 days a week.

Edit: When I say west I mean northwest region.

They never liked to do that.
A few months ago my ICA sent out a board message to stop calling in about unconfirmed loads.

First time there? For real?

If it's the.. well huge customer we have there then yes.
I've been there more than any another customer by far. Loads always have been accurate on weight or very close to it. They do have a free scale on site.
