I just messaged a friend that works at a major LTL carrier, here's what he had to say: "The lane departure can be turned off for a few minutes but comes back on. The proximity sensor on my truck can be unplugged, start the engine, plug it back in and it throws a fault so it doesn't work. Well, it did. They apparently updated my truck where it fixes the fault. I can still unplug the sensor, but I obviously can't leave it unplugged. I think I'll plug it halfway back in. It's maddening in city driving. It goes off if it thinks I'm to close even at 15 mph slowing down. I don't know how I have driven so many years without rear ending someone without some code and equipment telling me how to drive."
New truck and a sensor...?

I'm on my 3rd truck with the on guard.
It still does it but this one works the best. -
The Volvo system allows for driver override at least. Even with cruise on if you manually override by pressing the accelerator.

You might get a beep out of the newer ones bit of its hitting the brakes then something is wrong. -
