The one by my house in Buckeye has tables outside. Exit 114 off I 10 next to Loves.

 

Sign is still up.

 

Ya the sign is still up, but you failed to mention, the lot is closed, and it looks like a hotel is being built there.

 

Bruces Texaco maybe? The one that Tornado killed people in the early 80's was it? Tulsa aint it? Another good stop was in Bakersfield. It was worth it to rest and refuel after a 2500 mile haul and push on.

When we retired, not by choice; many truck-stops were being either replaced by costcos or rebuilt from full service restaurants into a situation where there is hardly any place to sit to do papers while standing in line 30 deep to get a fast food that will not last you 50 miles.

Good stops were getting harder to find. It is motivating that the Community here is keeping tabs on these.

 

I figured everyone knew that, building has been rubble for some time.

 

Just went by there. I thought they were building a new T/S for the last year but it's an Event Center for concerts, weddings, etc. I know, I know, 8 years later I responded...

 

Great times there back in the mid to late 90's.
