Cool! Plus it has sexy Daytons, but do you thank it may run out of fuel? Very few KTA's running in the USA also but I enjoy your pictures. I thought triple nickle's were Ford back-hoes or the six cylinder version of of 903 Cummins. Is that a product or some type of a train setup?
KTA 19 Cummins slow idle return?

555 is a small V8, it is basically a downsized 903.
903s are built with the 5.5" bore of the 855 but with a short stroke of 4.75".Ozdriver and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -

By triple nickle tankers I meant I hauled a triple trailer roadtrain with
tanks of nickle concentrate from a nickle mine to the railhead where it was railed to the port. We had triaxle trailers with tandem dollies and grossed out at 120 tons. That was back in the '80s, now for the same run they are 4 trailers at 175 tons.BoxCarKidd Thanks this. -

Had another play with the old girl yesterday. I found the main fuel line into the injector pump had loosened and was sucking air. Tightened it up and slow idle return is fixed I also rewired the alternator and am charging batteries now!! Cool. Only major drama now is that the air compressor is not unloading. The governor is working, so I have ordered a top end kit for the compressor which should fix. Hopefully!!
BoxCarKidd Thanks this.
