Does anyone know of a tanker company that will train an owner operator in Georgia? I have tanker endorsement but no experience with tanker. Im looking for a company that gives the option of being off on weekends. Thanks

I would check with Dana, as an owner op you might be able to just pull regional runs rather than running system. I know they have 2 or 3 terminals in Georgia. Cc Cobb runs all 48, not sure if they have terminal out your way though. Are you already set up for tankers? Unless you spec right most OTR trucks are too heavy...

Try Miller Transporters.
A&R Logistics has weekends home. Tractor specs are on the website. -
Thanks I'll look into them. And the truck is not set up to pull tanks right now. I've been pulling dry van, but looking for a change. The dry van rates keep dropping.
-
So are tank rates.....
-
That's the truth. We recently got our rates lowered and accessory pump pay cut by $75.00. Tanks seems to be suffering the same demise as Van. It sometimes amazes me how cheaply companies will move a tank full of hazard chemicals.
-
I blame it on the trucking companies. If they would quit pulling it so cheap, the customers would have to raise the rates
-
We're really busy and having to turn down loads, but when I ask about why the rates aren't going up......... We have to lower the rates because everyone else is. But we're swamped with work, so I still don't understand why we're not raising the rates.
skinnytrucker Thanks this. -
Trimac hires some new drivers and owner operators but is very selective. They have a branch near Atlanta. They also have positions that allow weekends off and reset at home.

They just opened a terminal in Columbus, GA.
