I buy the 10 packs, like $4. They are the ones with the really fine point too, write over the finger prints, and make really nice logs.

I remember that happening to one of the hydrovac trucks at a company I used to work for. They were trying to hydrovac holes in the ground for a new McD's sign across town. Driver had the boom out and a tank full of dirt that had to be dumped when the clutch locked up (operator error we later discovered when we pulled the clutch) Guy had no idea he could shutdown the truck to engage PTO. Had to pack up the truck and then dump it for him. He refused to drive it. I offered but since I didn't have my licence back then they opted to tow it the 5 minutes back to the shop.

My favourite "field fix" so far was when someone replaced a main fuse with a jumper wire because the fuse kept blowingo_O. Lets just say that cab got hotboxed the moment I turned the key.

One thing I have done is if a fuse has blown and I don't have a proper rated spare is to stick one in that is 5-10 amps more (max). It will get you home and in the event a wire in that circuit rubs through and shorts directly to ground, it will still pop before you burn the truck down. Obviously you want to put the proper one back in as soon as you can though.

    That's a mean game there.
    " Do you smell that?"
    " What?"
" Smells like somethings burning. Is that smoke?"
