Most dont want to share our good brokers because we put a lot of work into building relationships with them, and excuse my french but it getting to were we have some very slouchy drivers, i would not want to put my name out there for someone to show up in flip flops and a wife beater, what impression would you give. or not show up for a load. Honestly if you do your job, and put an impression out there you will get your brokers.

This is very good advice here, Most of us are not a fan of brokers..You may need to start out with them for a year or 2 to get establiushed and learn the business..
After a while, You'll see that using Brokers gets aggravating because Your profit levels will be 2 completely differen't animals when you compare the difference.
Secure your own business (At least your outbounds).. Because you'll be giving up 15-40% of revenue to the Brokers just for them to Lead you to freight. -
I guarantee the guys getting $4 a mile from their broker are going to keep the contact information Secret

You'd be lucky setting up with a good broker at this time. Capacity is tight right now and they only have for their regulars. I tried setting up with one that I haven't hauled for in a while and they already have trucks on the waiting list. And this other brokerage that I wanted to get on with through there cold storage already have everything "contracted" out to other 3rd party brokers and carriers. The guy actually asked me how much would I do for such and such on various lanes, so obviously he was pulling a TQL on me to see if I'd do it for cheaper.

I have to agree with the O/O's posting here. If you want to get noticed you have build a name for yourself as a reliable carrier. Having a new MC makes you an unknown quantity. Work load boards and build up your reputation as someone who gets things done. That's how your get brokers to remember you.

Me as a broker I get very very insulted when I read this thread whats a difference from wich broker you haul for as long as they are authorized that proves that they are a legitimit company and you can feel comfortable with them, doea it make a difference which grocery you buy your milk and eggs as long as its fresh who cares!!!!! Thanks DAT & ITS, load boards are the best way to find loads and good paying ones, do you O/O want to knock on doors to make sales and finding customers?!?!?!?! brokers deserve the money they are making!!!!!
