Learn to work on them? About the only thing you can do now is adjust the clutch, grease the chassis, and check the fluid levels. You have to be an electrical specialist to decipher the engine. Sencers are a major concern but you have to know how to read the codes, or even get the codes. It sucks that we've past the days of the 335's when you could pretty much do an in frame on the side of the road.

Well, you CAN still lease on a 2007 truck with a pre DPF/Def engine because that's what I just ditched my 387 for two months ago. With their 10 year age limit on trucks being signed on, however, time is quickly running out to do what I did.

PACCAR engine, lol. That was what happened to me, but the shop in Fontana said there was nothing leaking, clutch contaminated in no way, and I was out $3500 for a new clutch. Fuel leak decided to really let go upon leaving there and was right back in the next shop.

Don't walk, run away from that truck at your first opportunity.

I don't even want to imagine how much trouble I was going to have with that truck as the mileage got high. One year, more than two months of that year in the shop was the end of the line for me.

Morons at the dealer love putting 15w40 in those trucks, even when you tell them not to. I had to make the dealer in Dallas rechange the oil upon looking at my receipt, the again in Birmingham.

Y'all are mentioning getting the bugs worked out. An engine going boom and sending the fluids out is not a bug. That is a major problem, one that engineers will likely want to take their precious time investigating.

Most likely, that engine is coming out. At the very least, it's coming apart. This is happening at a dealership (in West Virginia), which is the last place you want any serious engine work done, not that anybody else is even capable of touching that engine.

I don't like spreading doom and gloom, but I wouldn't want to risk what future problems will likely be created while they try to fix this problem.
