I just got out of prison last week after serving 2.5 years for trafficking phenethylamines (specifically mdma aka molly.) My dad has it in his head that I need to get a CDL and become a trucker - I am not opposed to the idea but from doing preliminary research, it seems like my charge will REALLY hold me back in this field. I never moved drugs across state lines and this was my first arrest ever. will I be able to find a job driving trucks? will it be an uphill battle the whole way? I am also on 5 years state probation.
I have a drug trafficking charge, can I be a trucker?

I would say it would be a near vertical uphill battle.

Id go get on a backhoe or excavator...make good money not need drivers license...tell your Dad things have changed...JReding Thanks this. -

Well, your a fresh criminal? theres a good one..
Your not insurable...they alone will poo poo you
The companies that DO overlook felonies overlook them when they are 5 years or more old..
Nobody is hiring criminals Dad!!
Your were transporting illegal crap, you will not be hired in the transporting world..duh..You moving at all is suspicious!!!
any other field would make more sense..being a jailgaurd would be easier!! -

Ya dood, x felon here...Look local, landscaping companies etc etc...run the dumptrucks and water trucks..
If you had a shot, It would be with a small local outfit where the owner calls all his own shots..cognitivedissident Thanks this. -
