I have a drug trafficking charge, can I be a trucker?

    I just got out of prison last week after serving 2.5 years for trafficking phenethylamines (specifically mdma aka molly.) My dad has it in his head that I need to get a CDL and become a trucker - I am not opposed to the idea but from doing preliminary research, it seems like my charge will REALLY hold me back in this field. I never moved drugs across state lines and this was my first arrest ever. will I be able to find a job driving trucks? will it be an uphill battle the whole way? I am also on 5 years state probation.

    Ya, no...you need to give it some distance probably...

    Although google felony friendly companies and try...Liberty trucking is one

    Id go get on a backhoe or excavator...make good money not need drivers license...tell your Dad things have changed...

    Your were transporting illegal crap, you will not be hired in the transporting world..duh..You moving at all is suspicious!!!

    any other field would make more sense..being a jailgaurd would be easier!!

    I have a drives license, and I understand that felons can become truckers but it seems like a drug trafficking charge specifically is like the worst charge you can have. I would have been better off molesting a bus load of children as far as trucking companies are concerned.

    Trafficking has nothing to do with moving drugs - trafficking is just possession over a certain quantity.

    Yes. the molesting the bus would ban you from busses, but you could still drive a ready mix truck...correct

    Ya dood, x felon here...Look local, landscaping companies etc etc...run the dumptrucks and water trucks..

    If you had a shot, It would be with a small local outfit where the owner calls all his own shots..
