Can I say as an independent dispatcher... It really depends on who you are with. I know of dispatchers that have up to 600 clients and they book by the car. I work it out with my drivers ahead of time and we stick to the percentage rate agreed upon. I basically take care of everything for them and they focus on the road. I don't work with more than a few at a time so as to always be available. Isn't that what it's about. Managing the operation. I guess I could make more if I did it the other way but that would also suck. There are just so many ways to do this job good and bad, lucrative and not so much.. Either way just be there to take care of whatever your client needs. Best of Luck

So I was thinking since I been dispatching for the last ten years I'm interested in becoming am Independent Dispatcher. Any advice for just starting up? I figure I would use load boards until I find freight outside.
