Fitzgerald does the basic truck build up in Byrdstown, then it goes down to Crossville for any addons.mickeyrat Thanks this. -

When my truck got misdiagnosed for a clutch that cost me $3500, then almost another 1K in surprise repairs for what the shop tore up (stuff that didn't get invoiced for almost 3 months), the rep managed to get me $1500 of my clutch repair back.
Beyond that, he was helpful in my multiple trips to the shop of getting me in and misdiagnosed in a reasonable amount of time (even though we are supposed to have the truck looked at within an hour or two under Premier Care). -
Still no word but there is talk they think something broke off within the internals of the engine and "dropped" and that I might need a new engine.
Will have an answer supposedly by the end of the day.
They are currently pulling off the head...
Good news for what it's worth is they pulled the codes and etc and nothing came up showing it's driver related and/or abuse, it's just something that "happened" and it will be under warranty.
If I need a new engine... well that certainly won't be quick thoughdrvrtech77 and 4mer trucker Thank this. -
That will certainly will not be a quick fix. At least you might get a new motor out of it. (I'm trying to put a positive spin on the situation)

Did it clatter a bunch, or just one loud bang?

As for the engine, it may or may not be a fairly quick thing. If they ship in a crate engine, that could go much faster than any sort of rebuild of attempt to "fix" a problem.
Word of warning though, when you get the truck back, you might have to be a complete jerk, LOL. Look carefully on top and underneath for anything that doesn't look right. Leaving brackets off, and leaving wiring harnesses hanging is an extremely bad habit in these dealerships. They are paid commission and get the job done as quickly as possible, sometimes at your expense. The things they mess up now, are things that won't come back to haunt you probably until the truck is past the warranty period, and as you probably already know, the warranty that Schneider has on the KW's is not nearly as good as the warranty they have on the Freightliners.driverdriver and Home_on_wheels Thank this. -
Lmao SFI just called me and asked did I want to trade in my truck for one with tripac. Lmao one year left of payments I think not buddy. Even my rep laughed while asking me
